About me

With a career spanning five decades in social work, and 38 years as a qualified practitioner, I bring extensive and diverse experience across multiple areas of social work practice.

My background includes  work within residential care, supporting elderly people, individuals with learning needs, addiction and working with children and young people.

Within Children and Families Services, I have held both practitioner and managerial roles across child protection, children with disabilities, duty/intake, and youth justice teams, giving me a broad understanding of safeguarding and family support. I have delivered these services within a statutory setting and also with third sector providers such as Quarriers, Key Housing and Includem.

I have experience and training in advocacy for children and young people, an area about which I am passionate, and my practice reflects a strong commitment to "The Promise" and its objectives.

In addition, I have experience delivering HNC Social Care teaching in a further education college, providing learners with practical insight, guidance, and support as they developed their professional skills.

In recent years I have trained in coaching and hypnotherapy, developing my own business, offering individual interventions around life coaching, anxiety and confidence building, delivering personal development events to community groups, residential care teams, and writing and self publishing a book about anxiety.
